Job Coach for Adults with I/DD

We support those receiving services through Home and Community Based (HCBS) Long Term Services and Supports Medicaid Waivers. The Residential Program serves individuals in whichever setting is best suited to their needs, living independently, with family members, or in a state-qualified Host Home.

Position: Job Coach for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Status: Part Time. Flexible schedule based on your availability.

Location: Providers will work one on one with individuals in the community. Individual services may be provided based on your location. We serve in: Arvada, Aurora, Centennial, Denver, Greenwood Village, Lakewood, Littleton, and Thornton.

Reports to: Supported Employment Program Manager

Position Overview:

Job Coaches serve as liaison between individuals with disabilities and their employer to provide maximum opportunity for competitive employment.

As a Job Coach, not only are you able to help them meet their goals and learn new skills, but you get to work with the kindest population, all while observing their intellectual and developmental growth.

Job Functions:

• Assist clients understand the functions and additional tasks of their jobs.
• Provides support to employers as agreed upon by clients, which may include negotiating job accommodations and follow-along contact by the employment specialist with the employer.
• Assist clients communicate with coworkers and management.
• Assist clients in advocating for their needs while at work.
• Commitment to adhering to safe and healthy practices by complying with workplace safety and health policies and procedures and reporting unsafe work conditions at job sites.
• Maintain proper community supervision requirements.
• Transportation to and from work may be required for some clients.
• Complete daily notes and goals tracking through Spectrum’s provided online tools and monthly paperwork.

Qualifications & Requirements

• At least 18 years of age of older
• High energy, positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and a passion for caring for others.
• Pass a Criminal and Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) background check.
• Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and driving record in good standing. Reliable vehicle with proof of auto insurance.
• Dependable and Punctual
• Possess a positive attitude, be compassionate and have aptitude to care for others.
• Good written, verbal communication and comprehension skills
• Excellent communication skills with peers and staff members.
• Non-Certified Coaches are encouraged to apply. Training and certification will be provided.

Physical Requirements

• Able to provide all elements of hands-on care per client’s individual needs.
• Bend, sit, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Transferring clients for supported employment is assessed on a case-by-case basis and is not required for all positions.

Experience

• At least one year working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
• ACRE certification is preferred but not required

• Initial Orientation and On-Boarding
• CPR/First Aid/Universal Precautions
• QMAP-Med Administration
• Safety Care Behavioral Safety Training
