Seamstress - Cut & Sew - Supervisor

We are a Tempe based Safety & Promotional Marketing Company located just west of Downtown Tempe and ASU! We are an exciting, fast-paced company and we are expanding fast!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sportex Apparel is looking for a Sewing Supervisor/Shift lead for the afternoon schedule with full-time availability from 11 AM to 7:30 PM. We are a well-established one-stop shop meeting the needs of our customers in multiple avenues. We need an individual that is wanting to make a difference and help keep a high level of quality within the Sewing department.

• Oversee sewing production lanes to ensure a high level of quality
• Learn the production of our product lines and be able to train new and current employees
• Prepare orders for production and hand off to floor craft
• Collaborate with other sewing supervisors on jobs and personnel
• Delegate instructions to floor craft
• Work to meet order deadlines
• Assist with production as needed
• Assist with inventory counts to ensure raw materials are always in stock
• Learn how to operate new equipment or equipment that you don’t already have experience in

• Ability to be decisive
• Problem solver
• Great communication skills
• Ability to stand and walk throughout entire shift
• Ability to efficiently execute on management directive
• Occasional Saturday schedule availability
• Positive attitude
• Experience with lockstitch, overlock and cover stitch sewing machines

Education and Experience Requirements:

• At least one year of supervisor/shift lead experience
