AI Atlassian Engineer

We are looking for an applied AI expert to help our customer get the most out of AI agents, with Atlassian Rovo at the core but with a broad view of the wider ecosystem. This person will be the go-to reference for deciding which agent or tool fits each case best, designing efficient agentic solutions and supporting teams through adoption.

Responsibilities

• Advise on agentic AI strategy, identifying the processes where agents bring real value and ruling out low-impact use cases.
• Compare and recommend agents and tools (Rovo, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, coding agents like Rovo Dev or Claude Code, among others) based on use case, cost and security requirements.
• Design, build and test agents in Rovo Studio and, when needed, custom solutions with Forge.
• Integrate Rovo with other AI tools and external systems through MCP, APIs and connectors.
• Define efficiency and ROI metrics and track results over time.
• Set good practices for governance, security and responsible AI use, in line with GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Train technical and non-technical users and drive adoption across the organisation

• Proven experience with Atlassian Rovo (agents, Studio, search and chat) and with Jira and Confluence administration.
• Broad knowledge of the generative and agentic AI market, with hands-on experience across several platforms and models.
• Strong skills in agent design, prompt engineering, RAG concepts and agent evaluation.
• Experience with integrations (REST APIs, MCP) and knowledge of Forge or JavaScript/TypeScript development.
• Consulting skills, including process analysis, use case discovery and communication with business stakeholders and leadership.
• Knowledge of data governance, permission models and the European AI regulatory framework.

Nice to have

• Atlassian certifications (Jira or Confluence administration) and specific AI training.
• A portfolio of agents or automations in production with measurable results.
• Experience in change management and technology adoption programmes.
