Facilities Specialist– Care Campus

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Skid Row Care Campus is a comprehensive, low-barrier service center providing individuals experiencing homelessness with access to hygiene facilities, case management, health and behavioral health services, and connections to housing and other essential resources. The Campus offers a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment that promotes dignity, stability, and pathways to long-term housing.

The Facilities Specialist performs cleaning, sanitation, groundskeeping, basic maintenance, waste removal, and other facility-support activities across participant, staff, partner, and common areas.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Clean, sanitize, restock, and maintain interior and exterior campus areas, including restrooms, common areas, entrances, and sidewalks.
• Collect waste and safely handle sharps and other potentially hazardous materials in accordance with training and PPE requirements.
• Perform routine visual inspections and minor maintenance and promptly report repairs or building-system concerns requiring specialized support.
• Support room setups, deliveries, supply organization, and coordination with Facilities leadership, vendors, and other campus teams.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in facilities, custodial or environmental services, building maintenance, property operations, groundskeeping, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with commercial cleaning, exterior maintenance, basic repairs, or cleaning equipment preferred.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work respectfully with participants and campus partners.

Work Environment

Regular use of a computer and HR technology platforms is required, along with the ability to manage detailed records and sustained periods of screen-based work. The role follows a hybrid work arrangement with regular onsite presence and occasional travel among Los Angeles-area locations.
