    Job description

    Corporate Office - Knoxville, TN

    Who Are We?

Stand Out For Good, Inc. is a rapidly growing women's fashion company with 5 unique brands, in 130+ locations, across 38 states. Our stores feel like a sanctuary - a place of beauty from the inside out. From welcoming experiences and warm associates to thoughtfully curated products, our brands are built upon the founding principles of giving back and making a difference in the World.

    Our Mission

"Stand Out. For Good". At Altar'd State, those four words are more than just our motto, they are why we exist. From Mission Mondays, where 10% of our net proceeds go directly to local charitable organizations, to our long-standing partnership with Coprodeli USA, in which we are in the process of building 22 schools for impoverished communities in Peru, we are committed to giving back in meaningful ways to those in need.

    Position Overview

The IT Security Analyst Intern will play a key role in supporting the organization's information security posture across day-to-day operations and security-driven projects. This position acts as a crucial link between the security team and business units, helping to identify, track, and remediate risks that impact systems, data, and users across retail stores, distribution centers, and the home office. In addition to supporting security tickets and monitoring, the Security Analyst Intern will participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving threat detection, risk reduction, compliance readiness, and security awareness across the company. The ideal candidate brings a foundational understanding of information security concepts, a collaborative mindset, and an eagerness to contribute to project success through hands-on technical and analytical work.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in security projects focused on risk reduction, threat detection, and process improvement.

    • Participate in data analysis and reporting projects using security tooling and ticketing metrics to identify trends, recurring issues, or areas for improvement.

    • Learn and assist with monitoring security alerts and logs (SIEM, endpoint, network) to help identify potential incidents.

    • Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, tracking remediation progress, and documenting findings.

    • Help maintain and test security controls across retail stores, distribution centers, and home office environments.

    • Assist with security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations and employee training content.

    • Track and document project tasks, security procedures, and incident resolutions in alignment with team objectives.

    • Support access management reviews and basic identity/account audits.

    • Document and communicate progress on assigned project tasks during meetings and reviews.

    • Provide accurate, user-focused support on security questions and best practices.

    • Manage additional special projects and assignments as directed by IT/Security leadership.

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree as a Junior/Senior student, or recent graduate, ideally in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.

    • Strong interest in project-based security work and risk reduction initiatives.

    • Exceptional organizational, time management, and coordination skills.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

    • Customer-oriented, calm under pressure, and a proactive problem solver.

    • Basic understanding of information security fundamentals (e.g., authentication, network basics, common threat types).

    • Exposure to security tools, concepts, or coursework (SIEM, vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection, etc.) is a plus but not required.

    • Ability to work collaboratively across teams, contribute ideas, and own portions of projects through completion.

    Professional Development

This internship provides hands-on experience with real-world security projects that strengthen the organization's security posture and risk management practices. Interns will gain a deeper understanding of the security project lifecycle, threat monitoring workflows, and collaborative security operations, preparing them for future roles in cybersecurity or security program management.
