As a Welder, you’ll work with metal fabrication equipment such as Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW) and resistance welding to repair a variety of parts.
What you’ll do:
- Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines
- Participate in continuous improvement of processes
- Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements
- Observe all applicable safety requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years TIG welding and fabrication experience
- 3+ years experience reading and interpreting blueprints and welding process specifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day
Desired Skills:
- Previous welding experience in aerospace or aviation environment
- Experience with welding thin gauge material and exotic metals (Inconel and Hastelloy)
- Thorough understanding of tool design and fabrication methods and processes
- Trade certification preferred
