    Job description

    Stanford University is seeking a Research Data Analyst 1(RDA1) for the Center for Undiagnosed Diseases (CUD), a site of the Undiagnosed Diseases Network to manage and analyze large amounts of data and information, typically technical or scientific in nature, under the direction of project researchers, investigators, or managers.

    The RDA1 will perform analysis/interpretation of genomic data alongside other multi-omic and medical data to facilitate diagnosis of rare genetic disease and will assist in additional aspects of case management for CUD participants. They will also assist in creating and/or managing datasets to facilitate efficient case tracking to ensure participants are moving through the evaluation pipeline efficiently and with all data elements required by the study protocol.

    To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in Mendelian genetics; prior experience with variant interpretation, translational research program, and/or managing research results is an asset. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills are essential. You will be expected to participate in supporting and tracking participant activities, case management, data analysis, project work, and research workflow.     This is a one-year fixed-term position.

    Responsibilities

    Core Duties:

    • Collect, manage and clean datasets.

    • Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize multivariate relationships in data.

    • Create databases and reports, develop algorithms and statistical models, and perform statistical analyses appropriate to data and reporting requirements.

    • Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and determine root cause for data problems from input errors or inadequate field edits, and suggest possible solutions.

    • Develop reports, charts, graphs and tables for use by investigators and for publication and presentation.

    • Analyze data processes in documentation.

    • Collaborate with faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods.

    • Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria to investigators and research staff.

    • Communicate with government officials, grant agencies and industry representatives.

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.

    Minimum Experience:

    Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Substantial experience with MS Office and analytical programs.

    • Strong writing and analytical skills.

    • Ability to prioritize workload.
