Product Life Cycle Controller - Robotics (M/F)

Role Positioning

Strategic and financial partner of the Division Product Line Officer and the Division Technology Officer, reporting to the Division Finance Officer, with the objective of maximizing the value creation of products over their entire life cycle.

Missions

As a Product Lifecycle Controller for the Robotics division, you will contribute to decisions relating to the product portfolio, technology investments, developments, industrialization and profitability throughout the product development and end-of-life cycle. You will work closely with the Product, R&D and Operations Controlling teams.

Thus, the main missions are:

Product Portfolio Steering

• Steer the financial performance of the product portfolio.
• Develop monitoring indicators and support investment, prioritization and project arbitration decisions.

Business Case Governance

• Define standards, guarantee the consistency of assumptions and challenge the business cases of development, industrialization and technological investment projects.
• Monitor actual performance against approved commitments and build scenarios useful for decision-making.

External funding Governance

• Identify opportunities, manage financial deliverables and ensure compliance of funded projects.
• Ensure reporting, follow-up of reimbursements and visibility on benefits, risks and financial impacts.

New Product Development Controlling

• Assess financial risks and opportunities, track expenditures, investments, and resources committed, and ensure visibility into the project portfolio.
• Steer make-or-buy financial analyses during development and contribute to the management of product cost objectives.

Product Profitability Management

• Analyze profitability by family, platform, and generation, and track margin changes throughout the lifecycle.
• Identify impairment losses, perform financial simulations and support pricing strategies.

Life Cycle Performance Analysis

• Define KPIs and track margin, cost reductions, and product introduction and retirement phases.
• Measure business case commitments, contribute to the monitoring of time-to-market and return on innovation, and manage post-launch reviews.

Technology and Innovation Portfolio Support

• Support the prioritization of roadmaps, evaluate investment scenarios and resource allocation decisions.
• Analyze the financial impact of technological choices and contribute to medium and long-term strategic reflections.

Industrialization and Cost Management

• Contribute to Design-to-Cost and Target Costing approaches, manage product cost objectives and evaluate industrialization business cases (projection tools to be developed).
• Challenge cost reduction plans and scenarios with Operations Controlling, responsible for calculating and relieving standard costs as well as validating operational savings for serial-life products.

Forecasting, Planning and Reporting

• Drive budget and forecast cycles related to product developments, technology investments, and portfolio initiatives.
• Support Business Partners in the preparation of reports and performance reviews for the steering bodies.

Process and Data Governance

• Harmonize methodologies, ensure the quality and consistency of product and project financial data.
• Contribute to reporting and Business Intelligence tools as well as to the continuous improvement of management processes.

Education: Master's degree in finance, controlling or equivalent discipline

Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial controlling, product costs, R&D or projects.

Experience in an international and product-oriented industrial environment is highly desired.
