Repossession Team Lead (Hybrid)

Position Summary: As a Repossession Account Lead, you will oversee the strategic execution of repossession activities across a portfolio of high-risk accounts. You will lead a team of specialists, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This role requires advanced knowledge of repossession procedures, skip tracing, and legal processes, as well as strong leadership and analytical skills to drive performance and mitigate risk.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Qualify and assign accounts approved for repossession, including involuntary, voluntary, and abandoned units.
• Coordinate with repossession companies and document secured vehicles in internal systems, notifying relevant departments.
• Conduct light skip tracing prior to assignment and follow up regularly with agents on account status.
• Monitor accounts for payments or arrangements, placing holds or initiating closure as needed.
• Manage dead-end assignments by forwarding them to the skip department for further action.
• Assist in selecting repossession agents, negotiating fees, and verifying insurance and bond compliance.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements including RTC, SCL, SSCRA, and bankruptcy protections.
• Process reinstatements/redemptions, review agency invoices, and support release procedures.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of Two (2) years of Auto Collection experience. Intermediate knowledge of regulations and policies regarding repossessions. Previous Call Center experience preferred.

Education:

• High School Diploma and/or GED.

Skills Required:

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities in fast-paced environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with document management systems and compliance processes.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with industry knowledge in captive finance, auctions, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated understanding of FDCPA and relevant collection laws, with basic math proficiency for financial tasks.

• Overtime required – required on an as needed basis.
• Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
• Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA ( Hybrid)
