Position Overview:
The Engineer, Mechanical Product, coordinates across business functions to understand market requests to design and alter products to meet the requirements of customer needs. The Engineer, Mechanical Product, works with all stakeholders as the technical expert and assists and manages change to sustain and improves as deemed necessary.

- Coordinate with product management, engineering, and sales to understand market requests and translate those requests into design specifications Revise designs as needed, improving manufacturability to accommodate ease of production.
- Assist in the review and on-going, continuous improvement of design system standards.
- Assist with product development and design activities that include mechanical and electrical designs that meet design specifications and are manufacturable and serviceable.
- Projects may include but may not be limited to the evaluation of new technological, materials, fastening methods, corrosion resistant options, electrical principals, and strength analysis.
- Develop 2D and 3D models/drawings of assemblies, and components using CAD software.
- Provide a technical resource to customers and internal departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems regarding products.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the completion of assigned design, test, and documentation.
- Act as a technical resource to train and assist engineers, technicians, and designers.
- Coordinate with supply chain to specify the appropriate and cost-effective components.
- Prepares or directs the preparation of calculations, equipment layouts, detail drawings, bills of material and maintains components and equipment in the business system data base.
- Participates in the manufacturing or building of prototype components or products.
- Develops the testing criteria and establishes the test parameters for newly designed components or existing product modifications as required.
- Compiles test data to evaluate the components or equipment to assure meeting the required function or performance.
- Analyzes and prepares or directs the preparation of calculations, equipment layouts, detail drawings, and bills of material required to address Engineering Change Requests including ERP.
- Reviews failed components of existing products when requested by Quality Assurance to determine the probable cause of failure and recommends course of action to prevent future occurrences.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
