Stuller’s Merchandising division is made up of a dynamic team of subject matter experts in each jewelry product category. These specialized teams focus on developing and buying products, managing inventory levels and pricing, working with marketing to execute promotions and publications, and so much more! Our Back of Store (BOS) merchandising team encompasses multiple business units focused on pricing, inventory management, and vendor collaboration across key product lines such as Tools, Metals, Packaging & Display, and Findings. These teams work together to develop business strategies, optimize profitability, and support customer needs through specialized product offerings and services within the jewelry industry.
The Tools Assistant Category Manager is responsible for assisting in the development of new products, creating marketing materials, and analyzing the day-to-day business performance of the Tools category. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and vendor partners to help ensure Stuller offers relevant, competitive products that meet customer needs while supporting sales growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize reporting tools to analyze category performance and identify opportunities to maximize profitability.
- Support product assortment planning, pricing strategies, promotions, and vendor negotiations.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify product opportunities and assortment gaps.
- Monitor competitor products and pricing, recommending changes to maintain a competitive offering.
- Assist in developing products and programs that support long-term customer needs.
- Partner with Marketing to create and execute promotional campaigns and new product launches.
- Coordinate the creation and proofing of seasonal brochures, catalogs, and other marketing materials.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships and sourcing new products for the Tools category.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience is acceptable. Ability to analyze data and make business recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams. Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in merchandising, product management, purchasing, marketing, or a related business function.
- Experience supporting product assortments, vendor relationships, or promotional planning.
- Knowledge of merchandising principles and inventory management. Intuitive sense for design and merchandising.
- Familiarity in jewelry manufacturing, bench tools, or related products.
