Surgical Coordinator

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Monday - Friday (7:30am - 4pm)
This position is responsible for the successful completion of the surgical scheduling process for patients requiring elective surgery at Sturdy memorial Hospital.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Three to five years previous experience in medical office.
• Command of verbal and written English; positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills.
• Understanding of referral and prior authorization process.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills
• Able to work collaboratively with surgeons, the hospital surgical schedulers, and the PCP’s office staff
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Computer skills
• Knowledge of physician appointments and schedule management.
• Ability to work independently

Educational Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent;
• Two year Associates degree or equivalent preferred

License/Certification: N/A

Salary Range: $19.85-$30.05

The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
