    Job description

    Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking an energetic, safety-minded Tubing Manager to lead daily tubing operations and deliver a fun, welcoming experience for every guest who slides down our snow play area. You will inspire and supervise a spirited team, partner with Mountain Operations and fellow departments to keep lifts, tubing lanes and equipment guest-ready, and set the tone for exceptional customer service and safety all season long.

    · 1+ year of experience scheduling, motivating and supervising employees

    · 2+ years of customer and guest service experience

    · Experience supervising outdoor activities preferred

    · Comfortable working outdoors in all temperature and weather extremes

    · Open to learning new skills and supporting other departments as needed — a versatile, team-first mindset

    What You’ll do:

    On-Hill Operations

    · Oversee active safety management to keep every guest and team member safe

    · Hire, train, schedule and supervise staff members

    · Organize orientation and complete all new hire documentation

    · Oversee day-to-day tubing operations, including opening and closing procedures, parking, tickets, Food & Beverage and Retail, security and patrol operations

    · Ensure the safety of all tubing employees

    · Secure releases of liability and ensure the safety of all customers

    · Manage daily fence and sign implementation and maintenance

    · Review and oversee all daily logbooks

    Lifts and Grooming

    · Coordinate with Mountain Operations on daily maintenance of lift(s), tubing lanes and the snow play area

    · Maintain snow base at load and unload areas, as well as snow levels around facilities

    · Maintain a log of hours for lifts

    · Work with the VP of Operations and Lifts Director on annual inspections, maintenance and more

    · Train staff on daily lift operations and maintenance

    Tubes

    · Maintain tube inventory and proper inflation levels; patch, repair or retire tubes as needed

    · Keep logs on tube condition and send tubes back to the vendor for refurbishing as needed

    · Communicate with the tube vendor as needed

    Additional Responsibilities

    · Contribute to or develop, and manage to, the Tubing budget

    · Schedule staff in alignment with set payroll budgets

    · When sensible, coordinate with Operations departments to share staff with other departments midweek

    · Work with fellow departments to set up and manage advance and on-site purchases for Tubing, Food & Beverage and Retail products

    · Facilitate and coordinate group activities and events

    · Take on other job duties as assigned

    · Cross-train and lend a hand in other departments as needed, building a broader understanding of resort operations.

    · Take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills across the resort, supporting a well-rounded, team-first approach to the guest experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    · Lifts, carries and moves up to fifty (50) pounds, such as tubes, fencing, signage and supplies, throughout a shift

    · Works outdoors in all temperature and weather extremes

    · Stands and walks for extended periods on snow and uneven terrain

    · Bends, kneels and uses hand tools when inflating, patching and repairing tubes and maintaining fencing and signage
