Position Title: Project Procurement Manager -EPC Construction Subcontracting Contracts

Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Project Procurement Manager to join our EPC Team to manage the end-to end process for Engineering, Procurement & Construction Subcontracting works. 

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Project Management and legal teams playing a central role in turning project requirements into successful procurement strategies.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) subcontracting works, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution and risk mitigation.
• Lead tendering, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and finalisation of subcontract agreements in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with contractual obligations, providing timely feedback and facilitating resolution of any disputes or issues.
• Procurement of various outsourced items required for the project.
• Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and legal teams to ensure procurement strategies effectively support project goals and mitigate risks.
• Liaise with the Procurement department in Japan and its team members on commercial matters when negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, and follow the instructions of the Head of procurement and Deputy Head of procurement.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of procurement activities, including contract statuses, cost control, and procurement metrics.
• Continuously analyse market trends and subcontractor capabilities to optimise sourcing strategies and cost-efficiency.
• Support audits and ensure adherence to corporate procurement guidelines and industry best practices.

Essential Knowledge/Skills/Experiences

• At least seven years of experience in procurement for large-scale EPC projects.
• Proven experience in procurement management within EPC projects, particularly handling subcontracting contracts for construction works.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations, and risk management related to EPC projects.
• Extensive experience with standard forms of contract, including FIDIC, NEC, BIMCO, etc.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract awards and vendor management.
• Familiarity with tendering processes, bid evaluation, and supplier qualification methodologies.
• Solid understanding of construction project schedules, cost control, and quality assurance.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management at various organisational levels.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experiences

• Experience working in international/multicultural EPC environments.
• Knowledge of specific regional construction regulations and labor laws.
• Certification in procurement or contract management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, PMP, or similar).
• Ability to analyse complex technical specifications and translate them into procurement requirements.
• Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies in subcontractor management.
• Must have right to work in UK.
