    Job description

    The annual range for this role is $138,300 to $184,000

    Final salary offers are determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, specialized skills, and certifications.

    Sales Territory- Midwest 

    Purpose and Scope of Job:

    Develop new business through sales in a specific geographic area and conduct training to demonstrate the value associated with Sumitomo products with OEM's, Distribution, Users, and Consultants.

    Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

    • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
    • Evaluate plan attainment to ensure overall revenue and gross profit objectives are accomplished and build key relationships with customers in order to enhance profitability.
    • Manage RSM and DSM sales activities.
    • Maintain and manage territory maps, customer account assignments, and assist with territory realignments.
    • Manage Distribution Channel within region.
    • Submit monthly reporting and forecasting on sales activity, customer related activities for quotes, orders or service issues.
    • Conduct ongoing analysis and sales forecasting for all distribution channels to ensure gross add objectives are attained.
    • Develop and manage budgets supporting Business Plans and marketing programs for distributor channel growth.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering.
    • Ten (10) years of outside sales experience and three (5) years of experience managing sales teams.
    • Five (5) years of sales experience in the mechanical power transmission market (i.e. Industrial Gear Boxes, Variable Speed Drives - Mechanical & Electrical, Industrial Electric Motors).
    • Demonstrated track record of sales success, exceeding quotas and surpassing expectations, with demonstrated revenue retention and growth.
    • Considerable experience with Strategy Development, Budget Management, and Project Management.
    • Must be proactive, outgoing, self-motivated and self-directed with a strong record of sales/market planning, client development, and follow through and overcoming barriers to sales. 
    • Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to adapt to audience and project competence and confidence when speaking to range of audiences and groups.
    • Demonstrated technical proficiency in strategic selling disciplines.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Must be able to perform a considerable amount of travel (50-75%).
