About the Role
As a Freelance Tour Guide, you will lead sightseeing tours and customized experiences for international visitors. You will play a key role in creating memorable experiences by sharing your knowledge of Barbados' history, culture and heritage while providing exceptional customer service.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are fluent in English and French or German, enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds, and have a passion for hospitality and tourism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and create a friendly and professional atmosphere.
- Conduct guided tours in English and either French or German.
- Deliver informative and engaging commentary on Barbados' history, culture, landmarks, attractions, and traditions.
- Ensure tours are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
- Adapt tours to meet the needs and interests of different groups.
- Coordinate with drivers, operations staff and other service providers to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Provide recommendations on local attractions, shopping, dining and activities.
- Respond professionally to guest questions and resolve concerns where appropriate.
- Represent Suncompanies with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a tour guide, hospitality professional or in a customer-facing role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Barbados' history, culture, geography, and visitor attractions.
- A warm, outgoing and confident personality with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Reliable transportation is an advantage.
Language Requirements:
Applicants must be fluent in:
- English, and
- French or German (spoken fluency is essential).
