As a Claim Specialist at Suncorp, when disaster strikes, we are there for our customers and the community, and you will play a crucial role in assisting customers in some of their most challenging times. Here's an overview of what the role entails and what you can expect:

• Job Title: Claim Specialist
• Location: Brisbane
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid 
• Shift Patterns: Part-time 
• Salary: $62,000 exclusive of 12% super  (pro rata for Part time hours)
• Training: 6 weeks of full-time paid training before transitioning to the regular shift pattern
• Training Format: Hybrid  
• Training Leave Restrictions: No leave can be accommodated during the training period

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver excellent customer service by providing efficient solutions and responses to customer enquiries
• Be the first point of contact for customers who have experienced loss or damage to their home and/or contents
• Triage and progress claims as far as possible on the first call, making things as easy as possible for our customers
• Provide support to customers with existing claim enquiries within policy entitlements, organisation of repairs & contents claim finalisation. 
• Ensure our customers receive the right support at the right time and reinforce Suncorp’s commitment to ‘building futures and protecting what matters’
• Demonstrate empathy, actively listen, build trust, and ask meaningful questions to exceed customer expectations and achieve positive outcomes.
• Foster a positive performance culture by actively contributing to team scorecard results, achieving performance expectations, and supporting excellence across people, customers, risk, and business outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role, with the ability to build trust, show empathy, and achieve customer-focused outcomes.
• Strong computer literacy, with the ability to confidently navigate multiple systems and adapt to new technologies.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including active listening, rapport building, and the ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively.
• High levels of resilience, adaptability, and emotional intelligence to manage a variety of customer situations with professionalism and care.
• Commitment to continuous learning, embracing coaching and feedback to develop skills, enhance performance, and support career growth.
• Collaborative team player who contributes positively to team culture, supports colleagues, and works towards shared goals and performance outcomes.
• Strong focus on accountability, quality, and delivering outcomes that balance customer needs, risk requirements, and business objectives.

Shift Options

Option 1: Sat, Mon, Fri – 22.5 hours per week – start window 6am-8am 

Option 2: Sat, Thurs, Fri – 22.5 hours per week – start window 6am-8am 

Option 3: Mon, Thurs, Fri – 22.5 hours per week – start window 8am-10am

 *‘Start window’ means you can be asked to start at any time between the hours shown. You must be able to fully commit to the shift shown.
