Job description

- Conduct regular job site safety inspections, audits, equipment checks, and hazard assessments
- Lead and document toolbox talks, safety meetings, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Communicate OSHA and company safety requirements clearly to field crews and subcontractors
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations; track corrective actions to completion
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, training records, and compliance logs
- Serve as a point of contact during OSHA inspections and regulatory visits
- Analyze safety data and trends and recommend corrective or preventive actions
- Coach and influence superintendents, foremen, and crews to reinforce safe work behaviors
- Support the Safety Manager with continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
- Enforce Suntec’s safety policies, procedures, and standards across all active job sites

- 2–5 years of construction safety experience (commercial, structural concrete, or heavy construction required)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (must be able to conduct safety conversations in both languages)
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards
- Experience conducting job site safety inspections and incident investigations
- Ability to confidently engage field crews and stop unsafe work when necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites
- Ability to pass a physical exam and drug screening
- Experience in structural concrete or heavy civil construction
- OSHA 30 Certification (required if not already held)
- OSHA 510 and/or OSHA 500 (preferred; required for advancement within the safety department)
- First Aid / CPR (required within 6 months of hire if not already certified)
