MES Service Technician – Service Operations

This family provides customers with technical service support across the range of Survitec MES products. It expertly installs, tests, inspects, repairs and certifies Survitec Marine Evacuation Equipment to meet legal, regulatory and industry best practice

Job Summary

This role is responsible for a MES Survitec service operation. This role Responsible for assembly, testing, inspection, packaging and repair of all MES equipment in accordance with relevant manufacturers’ manuals, operation guidelines and service bulletins. Works under immediate supervision.

Duties and responsibilities

• Supports the MES Service Operations Manager by carrying out disassembly, testing, inspection, and packing of MES systems and rafts
• Delivers servicing installation, maintenance and repair activity to quality and safety standards and according to standard work routines, focusing on delivering key performance metrics. Disassembly, testing, inspection, and packing of MES systems and life rafts
• Represents Survitec professionally during customer interactions and uses extensive product knowledge to understand and answer technical questions regarding service requirements
• Identifies all defects arising from inspection and their subsequent repair in accordance with manufacturer approved guidelines. Carries out preventive maintenance inspections, identifying and diagnosing any requirement for equipment and systems emergency repairs
• Develops knowledge and understanding of Survitec policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtains authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure
• Follows Survitec Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; identifies and mitigates risks to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of self and others
• Develops own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; works towards competence in multiple product lines, to become part of a flexible service operations workforce
• Develops and maintains an understanding of relevant technology, OEM manuals, external regulation and industry best practices through ongoing education and reading specialist materials
• Follows stores requisition processes to maintain accurate stock levels and records
• Understands, upholds and contributes to creating a safety-first culture within Survitec. Ensures a safe and healthy working environment

Experience and qualification

Educated to High School level, with 4 GCSEs or equivalent
2 – 3 years of job-related experienced enables the practitioner to operate at fully competent level across a minimum of one service line, providing technical guidance and support
No formal management experience required for this role
Forklift and cherry picker operator certifications are preferred.
