Job Summary
This role is responsible for providing guidance and subject matter expertise to junior portfolio and product colleagues across the function, acting as a centre of expertise for their portfolio area. The role will shape the long-term competitive positioning of the portfolio area, synthesising market intelligence, customer insight and, financial performance to inform Survitec’s growth strategy. Influencing resource allocation and strategic prioritisation at a senior level, this role will drive alignment across Sales, Engineering, Service and regional leadership.
Duties and responsibilities
· Portfolio Strategy & Roadmap: Defines the end-to end strategy across products, services and rental offerings, in respective portfolio area, aligned to Survitec’s growth objectives. Translates strategy into a 3–5-year portfolio roadmap. Sets positioning and value propositions (4 P’s; Product, Price, Place/Channels, Promotion)
· Product Lifecycle Management: Owns the full lifecycle from concept through to introduction, growth, maturity and decline. Manages end-of-life decisions with minimal customer disruption. Monitors portfolio lifecycle and tracks revenue, margin, mix, service attach rate and other performance metrics for the offering.
· Commercial Management: Sets pricing strategy and guardrails to balance margin, competitiveness and compliance; monitors price realisation and margin leakage root causes. Ensure maintenance of price lists and conducts annual price reviews. Designs and optimises offering propositions.
· Market, Customer & Competitor Insight: Conducts customer, market and competitive research (offerings, pricing, go-to-market) identifies differentiation opportunities. Runs voice-of-customer programs, feeds insights into PLM.
· Portfolio NPD & Launch: Reviews and evaluates all CDF (new offering or variant requests)- with Engineering. Ensure compliance to NPD process of stage gate reviews in portfolio category, securing sufficient commercial support & evidence for each development. Defines portfolio- level sales playbooks; enables sellers and service teams.
· Cross-Functional Alignment & Governance: Supports development of sales enablement and knowledge-sharing tools working closely with Technical Sales & Support to ensure usability and adoption. Prepares and participates in Portfolio Review Meetings. Provides executive updates and prepares materials for Portfolio Board reviews.
· Risk, Compliance & Quality: Tracks warranty, returns and field reliability; drives root-cause eradication with Engineering and Operations. Maintains audit readiness for portfolio artefacts and data integrity.
· Safety first: Uphold and contribute to creating a safety-first culture within Survitec.
Essential skills and experience required
· Proven experience taking products to market- strong ownership of go-to-market strategy, including launch planning and commercial enablement.
· Senior-level product management capability, with confidence operating in complex, evolving environments.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Experience within maritime industry or related domain is highly advantageous.
