    Job description

    Job Summary
    Synechron is seeking a QA Automation Playwright professional with experience to design, implement, and maintain automation test scripts and frameworks. This role collaborates with QA and development teams to drive high-quality software delivery, develop end-to-end test scenarios, and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will help reduce defects, accelerate release cycles, and contribute to process improvements across projects.

    Software Requirements

    Required

    • Strong experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium)

    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript

    • Experience with Playwright automation tool

    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)

    • Knowledge of test management tools like JIRA, TestRail

    • Understanding of API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured

    • Experience with version control systems (Git)

    • Knowledge of Linux commands; shell scripting is a plus

    • Familiarity with Docker and containerized testing environments (optional)

    Overall Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts and frameworks using Playwright and other tools

    • Collaborate with QA and development teams to understand testing requirements

    • Develop test cases and automate end-to-end test scenarios

    • Execute automated tests and analyze results to identify regressions and defects

    • Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing

    • Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks and scripts

    • Track, report, and verify bug fixes and improvements

    • Ensure comprehensive documentation of testing processes and test cases

    • Stay updated on latest automation tools and best practices

    Technical Skills (By Category)

    Programming Languages

    • Essential: Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript

    Databases/Data Management

    • Essential: Knowledge of database management systems and data structures

    • Preferred: Data modeling concepts, data pipelines, ORM concepts

    • Preferred: Docker/Kubernetes for test environments; containerized test runs

    Frameworks and Libraries

    • Preferred: Encryption, secrets management, governance practices

    Experience Requirements

    • Years of Experience: 5–7 years

    • Domain Experience: QA Automation with focus on Playwright or similar tools

    • Industry Experience Preferences: Experience coordinating with QA, development, and product teams

    • Alternative Experience Pathways: Equivalent hands-on QA automation leadership experience

    Day-to-Day Activities

    • Developing and maintaining automation scripts for UI and API testing

    • Reviewing testing requirements and designing automation strategies

    • Executing automated test suites and analyzing results

    • Integrating automation tests into CI/CD pipelines

    • Debugging and troubleshooting automation failures

    • Collaborating with developers and QA team members to reproduce and resolve issues

    • Updating existing frameworks and creating new reusable components

    • Creating detailed reports on test execution and defects

    Qualifications

    • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

    • Certifications: Certifications in testing automation are a plus

    • Training: Ongoing professional development in automation testing practices

    • Equivalency: Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal degrees
