This newly created role represents a rare opportunity to shape the future direction of our Permanent Recruitment offering across both Synergie and S&You, creating a market-leading proposition that delivers outstanding outcomes for clients, candidates and our business.

The General Manager, Permanent Recruitment will be responsible for developing and executing the national strategy for permanent recruitment, building a scalable delivery model, driving revenue growth and creating a high-performance culture.

This is far more than an operational leadership role. We are seeking a commercially astute recruitment leader with the vision to define a national offering and the ability to execute at pace.

The Opportunity

As General Manager, Permanent Recruitment, you will:

• Create and execute the national growth strategy for Permanent Recruitment across Synergie and S&You.
• Develop a compelling market proposition that differentiates our brands and strengthens our position in the Australian recruitment market.
• Design and implement a scalable delivery model that supports sustainable growth and operational excellence.
• Build, coach and develop high-performing recruitment leaders and consultants across multiple locations.
• Lead from the front in generating new business opportunities, opening strategic client relationships and creating market momentum.
• Personally contribute to business development and revenue generation, particularly during the establishment and growth phase of the function.
• Identify and convert strategic opportunities across existing and new markets.
• Drive productivity, accountability and performance across the permanent recruitment business.
• Establish clear metrics, reporting frameworks and operational disciplines to improve conversion, placement volumes and profitability.
• Build strategic client relationships and identify new market opportunities.
• Partner with State Managers and operational leaders to maximise cross-selling opportunities and leverage existing client relationships.
• Deliver revenue, gross profit and profitability targets while maintaining exceptional client and candidate experiences.
• Identify future growth opportunities including new markets, sectors, service offerings and talent solutions.
• Champion innovation, technology adoption and contemporary recruitment practices.
• Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and commercial excellence.

Who you are

You will be equally comfortable presenting a national growth strategy, meeting with a major prospective client, coaching consultants on desk performance, or personally leading the recruitment of high-value opportunities.

You are an accomplished recruitment leader who still enjoys being in the market, building relationships and winning business.

You understand that sustainable growth starts with strong leadership, but you are also willing to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front when required.

You'll bring:

• Extensive leadership experience within agency based recruitment, executive search or workforce solutions.
• A proven track record of building and scaling permanent recruitment businesses or divisions.
• Demonstrated success in business development, market expansion and winning new client partnerships.
• Strong commercial acumen with a history of delivering ambitious revenue and profit targets.
• Experience developing high-performing consultants and recruitment leaders.
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
• Strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets, forecasts and commercial outcomes.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• High levels of personal drive, resilience and accountability.
• The credibility and presence to represent Synergie and S&You at a senior level in the market.
