Process Analytical Technology Lead (f/m/d)

Purpose of the role

The Process Analytical Technology (PAT) Lead drives the implementation of alternative analytical techniques for process analysis and control The main focus is on developing PAT applications along our new AI pipeline from lab to pilot scale and their introduction into first manufacturing. This includes close collaboration with our manufacturing sites. The activities can extend into formulation manufacturing. Beyond the local accountabilities strong involvement in building and strengthening our global PAT capabilities across Syngenta are foreseen

Key Accountabilities

• Leading local PAT activities and coordinating the local PAT team.
• Defining, developing and continuously improving local PAT capabilities.
• Proactively identifying opportunities to apply PAT techniques across manufacturing processes
• Active engagement and point of contact with our Swiss manufacturing sites
• Shaping the future direction of PAT and contribute to the  global PAT strategy.
• Connecting with and influencing stakeholders within the department, at site level and across wider functions.

• Holding an academic qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Science, or a related discipline, with a strong focus on PAT-relevant techniques and concepts.
• Bringing 3–5 years of professional experience in Process Analytical Technology (PAT) or a closely related field.
• Maintaining a broad overview of PAT-related topics while actively acquiring and continuously updating knowledge across all relevant areas.
• Demonstrating a sound understanding of manufacturing environments, analytical techniques and Quality Control (QC).
• Applying proficient knowledge across the scientific disciplines relevant to PAT.
• Using strong project-management skills to plan, prioritise and deliver activities effectively.
• Building productive partnerships and influencing stakeholders at different organisational levels.
• Bringing an innovative mindset and actively seeking opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken German is an advantage.
