    Job Summary:

We are looking for a hands-on and strategic Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security team on a full-time, permanent basis, reporting to the Cyber Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be uniquely positioned to drive meaningful improvements across Sysco’s security landscape, both tactically and strategically. You will help shape our understanding of the risks we face, define the capabilities required to mitigate them, and optimize the tooling that enables this protection.

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will influence the organization’s strategic direction by providing insight into the ever-changing threat landscape and ensuring our security tools evolve to address emerging risks. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by combining technical expertise with strategic vision to strengthen Sysco’s security posture.

    Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

    • Take a hands-on role in implementing, configuring, and automating a wide range of security technologies across Sysco, including:
      • Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Microsoft Purview, Forcepoint
      • Web Proxy & Secure Web Gateway: Zscaler, Netskope
      • Endpoint Protection & EDR: CrowdStrike, SentinelOne
      • Cloud Security Tools: CSPM, CASB
      • Network Segmentation: Guardicore, Illumio
    • Ensure all security tools are patched, monitored, and maintained for optimal performance and compliance.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned security tools, providing guidance and support across the organization.
    • Respond to and resolve support tickets, troubleshoot tool-related incidents, and address integration issues promptly to minimize impact.
    • Partner with cybersecurity operations, architecture, compliance, and IT teams to align tools with business and technical requirements.
    • Participate in proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new security technologies, assist in evaluations, and contribute to design and development of integrations and automation.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of tool configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides; build playbooks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Identify configuration gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen security posture.
    • Collaborate with the Security Operations Centre to identify emerging threats and determine effective protection strategies.
    • Drive opportunities to enhance security and compliance through automation and advanced tooling.
    • Support audit and governance requirements by ensuring tools are properly configured, monitored, and compliant.
    • Assist with the safe adoption of new technologies to enable business agility without compromising security.
    • Work closely with architects, product owners, delivery managers, and security analysts to deliver on Sysco’s security strategy.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Exceptional Communicator: Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, supporting informed, risk-based decisions.
    • Ownership Mindset: Proactively identify areas for improvement, secure buy-in, and drive initiatives through to successful completion.
    • Continuous Improvement: Passionate about finding better ways of working and staying ahead of the evolving threat landscape.
    • Innovative Thinker: Bring fresh ideas and creative problem-solving approaches while balancing business priorities and security requirements.
    • Security Advocate: Champion information security across the organization and within the broader IS community.

    About You:

    • Hold a relevant degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or possess equivalent hands-on experience in Cyber Security.
    • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, operations, or IT security roles.
    • Strong technical expertise with a breadth of security tools, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting of DLP, Endpoint Protection, Cloud Security, API Security, and Networking technologies.
    • Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
    • Solid understanding of industry frameworks such as NIST, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.

    Why Join Us

    • Be part of a global cybersecurity team protecting a dynamic enterprise environment.
    • Opportunity to work with modern security technologies and drive tool innovation.
    • Collaborative culture with professional development opportunities.
    • Hybrid work model with our Kraków office as the primary location.
