    Job description

Co-Clinical Lead - General Practitioner Fellow | Full Time

Ratanui Medical | Opportunity Available March 2027

    • Clinical leadership opportunity in a well-established West Auckland practice
    • Mentor and develop the next generation of GPs and healthcare professionals
    • Competitive remuneration with flexible clinical and leadership responsibilities
    • Cornerstone accredited clinic with flexible working arrangements

General Practice is at its best when doctors have the time to build trusted relationships, understand the broader context of their patients' lives, and see the impact of their care over time.

Ratanui Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and inspirational Co-Clinical Lead to provide clinical leadership for our well-established community practice located on Lincoln Road, Henderson. We serve a diverse patient population including young families, Māori and Pacific communities, older adults, and patients with complex long-term health needs.

You'll be joining an experienced and supportive practice team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Working alongside skilled nurses and dedicated support staff, you'll provide comprehensive primary healthcare across all stages of life, helping patients navigate both immediate health concerns and longer-term wellbeing goals.

This is an opportunity for a GP who enjoys caring for patients through different stages of life and appreciates becoming a trusted part of their community's healthcare journey.

    What You'll Value

    • Building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and whānau.
    • The opportunity to practise true continuity of care across all stages of life.
    • A varied patient population spanning preventive health, acute presentations, chronic disease management, and long-term wellbeing.
    • Experienced nurses and support staff who enable a genuinely team-based approach to care.
    • Modern documentation and practice technology designed to reduce administrative burden.
    • Clinical autonomy within a supportive and collegial practice environment.
    • Competitive remuneration aligned with experience and scope of practice.
    • APC and indemnity reimbursement.
    • Ongoing professional development opportunities and access to the wider Tamaki Health clinical network.

    Why Ratanui Medical?

Ratanui Medical has longstanding connections within the local community and a reputation for providing high-quality primary healthcare.

While connected to the wider Tamaki Health network, the practice maintains its own identity, strong community focus, and patient-first approach. Patients are known to the practice, continuity of care is valued, and clinicians are supported to practise in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

We've invested in technology and learning and development, including ambient documentation technology that reduces note-taking and administrative workload. Combined with experienced nursing, clinical, and operational teams, this gives you more time and headspace to focus on patient care.

Many of our clinicians value the balance of professional autonomy, supportive colleagues, established patient relationships, and the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the health of their community.

    Practice Hours

    • Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 6:00pm
    • Saturday: 9:00am to 12:00pm

    • Strong clinical judgement and patient-centred decision-making.
    • A commitment to delivering high-quality primary care.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • A collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team.
