    About the Role

We are seeking an engaging and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Telehealth Services team on a three month fixed term basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new nurse led telehealth pilot designed to improve access to healthcare for patients while supporting more efficient use of clinical resources. Working within our Integrated Care Team, you will provide remote nursing consultations via telephone and video, helping patients access timely care without needing to attend a clinic in person.

This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse who enjoys building rapport, providing reassurance, and delivering excellent patient care through virtual channels. We are looking for someone who is warm, approachable, and confident communicating over the phone, with the ability to quickly build trust and create a positive patient experience.

Working alongside our Contact Centre and wider clinical teams, you will play an important role in supporting patients with their healthcare needs while contributing to an innovative and evolving service.

    What You Will Do

As a valued member of the Telehealth Services team, you will:

    • Conduct nursing consultations via telephone and video platforms.
    • Assess patients and provide appropriate nursing advice and support within your scope of practice.
    • Support patients requiring medical certificates and other primary healthcare services that can be delivered remotely.
    • Escalate patients to General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, or other services when clinically appropriate.
    • Provide health education and promote positive health behaviours.
    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
    • Deliver culturally safe, patient centred care to a diverse patient population.
    • Support inbound calls requiring nursing input when required.
    • Work collaboratively with Contact Centre teams and healthcare professionals to ensure positive patient outcomes.

    What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
    • Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, Telehealth, Community Nursing, or a similar clinical setting.
    • Strong clinical assessment and decision making skills.
    • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly over the phone.
    • A warm, professional, and patient focused approach.
    • Confidence working independently while remaining connected to a wider team.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills.
    • Well developed digital literacy and confidence using multiple technology platforms.
    • A commitment to delivering culturally safe, patient centred care.
    • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.

Experience working within a telehealth environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
