    About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Therapist to join Kia Korowai, our well established ACC Sensitive Claims service.

This is an opportunity to focus on what you do best, supporting kiritaki who have experienced sexual harm, while being part of a supportive and highly experienced multidisciplinary team. Unlike many ACC Sensitive Claims providers who work independently, you will have access to peer support, professional supervision, mentoring, and specialist clinical guidance within a collaborative service that has been built around therapist wellbeing and client outcomes.

Working with kiritaki across South Auckland, you will provide trauma informed, culturally safe therapy services through a combination of in person appointments and telehealth delivery. You will support individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities, helping them navigate their recovery journey with care, compassion, and respect.

Whether you are newly registered with ACC Sensitive Claims Services or looking to join a service where administration, referrals, invoicing, and client bookings are managed for you, this is an opportunity to work within a team that genuinely supports your success.

    What You Will Do

As a valued member of the Kia Korowai team, you will:

    • Deliver ACC Sensitive Claims therapy services to kiritaki who have experienced sexual harm.
    • Provide culturally safe, evidence based, trauma informed therapeutic interventions.
    • Support kiritaki through their recovery journey while promoting wellbeing and resilience.
    • Deliver services through a combination of in person and telehealth appointments.
    • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for kiritaki.
    • Participate in peer review, supervision, mentoring, and professional development activities.
    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with ACC Sensitive Claims requirements.
    • Contribute to a supportive team culture that prioritises quality care and continuous improvement.

    What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • ACC Sensitive Claims Services registration.
    • Registration with an appropriate professional body, or full membership with a recognised professional association.
    • A postgraduate qualification enabling therapeutic work with clients.
    • A minimum of six to twelve months of clinical experience in New Zealand.
    • Experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including sexual harm.
    • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
    • A commitment to culturally safe and equitable practice.
    • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

The following would be highly advantageous:

    • Ability to connect with diverse communities through Te Reo Māori, Hindi, or a Pacific language.
    • Experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau.

    About Kia Korowai

Kia Korowai, meaning "to cloak", provides ACC Sensitive Claims services to patients across the Tāmaki Health network and the wider community.

Delivered through the Wellness Support Team, Kia Korowai is part of an award winning mental health service recognised nationally for excellence in primary healthcare. Through the Wellness Support Team's integrated model of care, kiritaki can access a wide range of additional health and wellbeing services at no cost, enabling more holistic and coordinated support.

Unlike many independent ACC providers, our therapists are supported by dedicated administrative teams and have access to internal Specialist Cover Assessors, including psychiatrists. We manage referrals, client bookings, invoicing, and service administration so you can focus on delivering excellent care.

    What We Offer

    • Guaranteed client referrals and consistent case load.
    • Minimal administration, with bookings, invoicing, and ACC processes managed by our support teams.
    • Professional supervision, mentoring, and clinical guidance.
    • Paid professional development opportunities.
    • Access to experienced consultant psychiatrists and specialist ACC cover assessors.
    • A supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Hybrid working options, including telehealth delivery.
    • Exposure to a wide range of clinical presentations and diverse communities.
    • Comprehensive onboarding, training, and ongoing support.
    • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of kiritaki and their whānau.
