TASTE is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our Commissary Kitchen team. This role is essential to ensuring the consistency, quality, and efficiency of our prepared food offerings for retail locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, process, package, and stock food products according to established standards
- Follow daily prep lists and recipe guidelines with precision
- Use basic knife skills and kitchen tools to complete prep tasks efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen environment
- Assist in kitchen restocking, deep cleaning, and organization
- Work collaboratively with fellow associates to meet daily production goals
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions
- Comfortable performing basic math (weights, measurements, conversions)
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills in a kitchen setting
- Ability to read and understand simple written documents in English
- Effective verbal communication in small group or one-on-one settings
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team attitude
- Willingness to complete all required training (orientation, food safety, product knowledge)
- Culinary/kitchen experience is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and turn throughout the shift
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle both raw and cooked food
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms between 6–72 inches
- Ability to taste, smell, and hear at both close and long distances
- Must be able to lift and move at least 30lbs frequently, and up to 50lbs occasionally
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have reliable transportation
