We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to help shape the technical foundation of a fast-growing product within the social gaming industry. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building scalable backend systems, solving complex engineering challenges, and driving technical excellence in a high-performance environment.
You will play a key role in designing and implementing the architecture behind real-time tournament systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and outstanding performance for a global user base.
Design and implement scalable, maintainable, observable, and high-performing application architecture.
Develop clean, efficient, and well-documented code following engineering best practices.
Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical standards across the engineering team.
Identify and optimize system performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver impactful features.
Ensure application security and implement safeguards against vulnerabilities.
Apply modern software engineering principles including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), SOLID, and GRASP.
Proven experience building and delivering large-scale production systems.
Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design, API-first architecture, and software design patterns.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (React/Next.js) or another backend language, ideally Node.js or PHP.
Experience with Pub/Sub systems, WebSockets, and Server-Sent Events (SSE).
Experience working with scalable backend and platform architecture.
Product engineering mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver features end-to-end.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
Experience with MySQL.
Experience building white-label products.
Background in real-time systems or gaming-related platforms.
