    Scientific Researcher Chip Design (m/f/d) – 100%, TV-L E13

    28.07.2026, Academic staff

The Chair of Computer Architecture and Operating Systems (CAOS), led by Prof. Carsten Trinitis, invites applications for two fully funded PhD student positions at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Campus Heilbronn. We seek strong candidates excited about computer architecture and hardware development and specifically invite applications by members of underrepresented groups in Computer Science.

The Technical University of Munich plans to strengthen its research and teaching in chip design at its Heilbronn Campus from the upcoming winter term 2026/2027. Within a timeframe of around five years, the establishment of a new Master’s programme in chip design at the TUM Heilbronn Campus is a midterm goal. A particular focus of the research and new degree programme will be on enabling chip design using ‘open source’ design tools.
