* distributed computing concepts familiarity
* elastic computing and resilience
* virtualization and containers
* distributed data center schedulers and clustering
* cloud computing hands on experience - public, private and hybrid
* asynchronous, distributed event based architectures
* scalability concepts (the scale cube etc)
* multi-site and active/active system design experience
* distributed orchestration and workflows
* fault isolation and understanding of swim lanes based design
* understanding of monolithic and microservices based system design, pros and cons
* software defined systems (computing, network, storage etc)
