    Job description

    Lead Tech Position is to work on all phases of Tel Tech Networks, Outside Plant, Premise Cabling, Security, Network, DAS, 802.11 Wireless, RF Wireless, A/V and Miscellaneous Projects. This may include ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule.

    The Lead tech reports to Project Managers (PM).

    General Duties:

    Provide the same Tel Tech Networks service and quality. Represent the company in a professional manor with customers, vendor and employees

    Follow scope of work and bill of materials for projects, review submittals, prints and ensure all work is being done to bid packages.

    Follow plans for completion of projects

    Make sure we have all construction documents and all necessary permits and licenses onsite during projects

    Make sure the supplies and materials to complete projects are onsite when needed

    Maintain customer satisfaction on the jobsite

    Responsibilities:

    Work for PM / Account Manager (AM) follow their project plans to ensure that all specifications and regulations are being followed and job specs to scope of work.

    Work with crews or technician in a professional manor.

    Manage PM / AM expectations on projects, communicate project issues.

    Manage change orders, follow change controls and watch costs of projects.

    Communicate field aspects of projects (progress billing, rental equipment, change orders, etc.) to PM / AM

    Complete project daily documents

    Understanding of government codes, permits, standards, requirements and taxes

    Project Oversight, Progress Tracking and Reporting

    Supply Work in Progress (WIP) Status to Operations (OPS) manager

    Complete within manufacture warranty specifications

    Complete work within building and safety codes and regulations

    Must communicate effectively with personnel and upper management on a regular basis to explain the progress and strategies made.

    Keep track all necessary materials, tools and equipment that are onsite.

    Works with other techs, reviews reports, checks on difficulties and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies

    Works with contractor/ AM/ PM/ OPS Managers on progress and any necessary modifications of plans that require changes or adjustments

    Completes work on budget with costs, quality and speed

    Works with other crews, techs, other Tel Tech (TT) personnel and outside contractors

    Requirements

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in field of telecommunications...
    • Understanding in reading construction drawings/blueprints
    • Knowledge of construction and construction proceedings
    • Basic understanding of construction requirements/issues
    • Familiarity with computers and software
    • Ability to effectively communicate with customers
    • A Personal commitment to a safe working environment for employees
    • Flexible during times of change and willingness to do what it takes to accomplish an objective within company policies and safety standards
    • Ability to document and report job progress
    • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
    • Possess reasoning skills
    • Be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a professional attitude

    Work Conditions 

    • When your shift starts, be prepared to start on time not just show-up at site
    • Ensure weekly timesheets are turned in on time
    • Extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines
    • Sitting for extended periods of time
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
    • Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping while working, using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other tasks.
    • Be able to attend in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
    • Travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
    • Ability to work in a stressful environment
    • Will be required to haul material in personal vehicle
    • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
    • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, or rain
    • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers; includes hand eye coordination.
    • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments.
