    Job description

    Tech Position is to work on all phases of Tel Tech Networks, Outside Plant, Premise Cabling, Security, Network, DAS, 802.11 Wireless, RF Wireless, A/V and Miscellaneous Projects

    The tech reports to Project Managers

    General Duties:

    Provide the same Tel Tech Networks service and quality. Represent the company in a professional manor with customers, vendor and employees.

    Follow instructions from other employees

    Follow plans for completion of projects

    Take care of all supplies and materials to complete projects that are onsite.

    Maintain professionalism on the jobsite

    Responsibilities:

    Work for Lead Tech/ Project Manager (PM) /Account Manager (AM) follow their project plans to ensure that all specifications and regulations are being followed and job specs to scope of work.

    Work with crews or technician in a professional manor

    Always stay busy even during down time

    Knowledge of government codes, permits, standards, requirements and taxes

    Project Oversight, Progress Tracking and Reporting

    Complete within manufacture warranty specifications

    Complete work within building and safety codes and regulations

    Must communicate effectively with personnel

    Handles materials, tools and equipment that are onsite with care

    Works with other techs, and watches for any safety violations or other deficiencies, report to lead tech or PM.

    Completes work with quality and speed

    Works with other crews, techs, Tel Tech (TT) personnel and outside contractors.

    Requirements

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Minimum 1 years’ experience in field of telecommunications...
    • Knowledge in reading construction drawings/blueprints
    • Knowledge of construction and construction proceedings
    • Basic understanding of construction requirements/issues
    • Familiarity with computers
    • Ability to effectively communicate with customers
    • A personal commitment to a safe working environment for employees
    • Flexible during times of change and willingness to do what it takes to accomplish an objective within company policies and safety standards
    • Ability to document and report job progress
    • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
    • Possess reasoning skills
    • Be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a professional attitude

    Work Conditions

    • When your shift starts, be prepared to start on time not just show-up at site.
    • Ensure weekly timesheets are turned in on time
    • Extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines
    • Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping while working, using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other tasks.
    • Be able to attend in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
    • Travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
    • Will be required to haul material in personal vehicle
    • Ability to work in a stressful environment
    • Willingness to travel extensively across construction sites
    • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
    • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, or rain
    • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers; includes hand eye coordination.
    • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments.

    Lead by example, work with coworkers, and manage your day. Know technology standards and industry best practices. Ability to communicate problems facing them.

    Teamwork-

    Works for Tel Tech and works as a group and not as an individual. Watch for team conflict and communicates problems to AM / OPS Manager.

    Client Management-

    Handles per daily workload and communicates and interaction with customer to the PM /AM and OPS manager updated.

    Training Expectations

    Works on getting as many manufactures Certifications as possible

    Learns networking, low voltage standards and codes

    Learns Security products

    Learns on A/V products

    Takes, attends or reads books on construction trends and techniques (1 different item required yearly)

    Takes, attends or reads books government codes, standards and taxes (1 different item required yearly)

    Gets BICSI technician certification up and current

    Meets in all aspects of our Tel Tech Skills Sheet.
