    Job description

    • Assignment Category: Full Time
    Why Join Us

Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital is one of the nation's most storied cardiac centers — the first hospital in the U.S. built exclusively for heart disease when it opened in 1998, and still a world leader in cardiovascular care today. This immersion opportunity places you directly alongside two of Arizona's most respected structural heart interventionalists, Dr. Timothy Byrne and Dr. Akil Loli, in a high-volume, academically engaged program. With nearly 900 structural cases completed in 2025 and complete autonomy to scrub into any case, you'll sharpen your skills fast in an environment built for clinical excellence. If you're ready to take your structural skillset to the next level, this is the room to be in.

    Position Highlights
    • Specialty: Interventional Cardiology with structural heart focus
    • Setting: Exclusively hospital-based at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital — no clinic requirement
    • Case Volume: Close to 900 total structural heart cases completed in 2025
    • Procedure Mix: TAVR, TEER/MitraClip, ASD/PFO closures, TMVR, tricuspid valve procedures, VSD closures, Watchman/LAAO
    • Team: Supported by 5 total structural heart interventionalists within the group
    • Call: One weekend of interventional call per month — the only call requirement
    • Academic Engagement: Biweekly TAVR case conferences; teaching responsibilities with residents and cardiology fellows
    • Research: Active participation expected, including at least one publication submission
    • Mentorship: Direct collaboration with Dr. Byrne (Market Medical Director, Cardiac Services; clinical trials PI) and Dr. Loli (Designated Institutional Officer for GME; cardiovascular fellowship core faculty)
    What We Offer
    • Competitive, comprehensive compensation package
    • Practice management handled for you — operations, administration, billing, credentialing, and HR centrally supported
    • In-house marketing and business development to support practice growth
    • Malpractice insurance provided
    • Health, dental, and life insurance
    • 401(k) with employer matching
    • Deferred compensation program
    • Relocation assistance
    Candidate Requirements
    • MD or DO degree
    • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiology
    • Eligible for or currently licensed in the State of Arizona
    • Minimum of 2 years post-fellowship experience with independent cath lab experience
    Why Phoenix

Phoenix — the Valley of the Sun — delivers 300-plus days of sunshine annually alongside an outdoor lifestyle that's hard to beat, from Camelback Mountain hikes and Sonoran Desert trails to some of the world's most acclaimed golf courses. The metro area has evolved into a thriving cultural hub with a nationally recognized restaurant scene, major professional sports, and a growing arts and entertainment corridor. Families are drawn to top-rated public and private schools, master-planned communities, and a cost of living that remains well below comparable major metros. If you want an active, sun-soaked lifestyle without sacrificing big-city amenities, Phoenix consistently delivers.
