    Job description

    • Assignment Category: Full Time

    Under supervision/direction of a physician, performs specialized technical work involving orthopedic care of patients. Some supervisory and administrative duties.

    Qualifications

    Required:  High school diploma or equivalent.

    Preferred:  College graduate.

    Experience

    • Required:  Good oral and written communication skills in the English language. 

    • Ability to make safe decisions and work independently. 

    • Thorough knowledge of orthopedic traction, bracing and casting procedures along with orthotic and prosthetic devices. 

    • Ability to articulate descriptions of orthopedic conditions based on understanding of anatomical structures and their relationship with one another. 

    • Understanding of proper application of aseptic technique in dressing change and setting surgical fields.

    • Preferred:  2 years as Orthopedic Technician

    Certifications

    Required: Certified by National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology. CPR certified.
