    Job description

    • Assignment Category: Full Time
    Why Join Us

Children's Hospital of Michigan has been the region's cornerstone of pediatric care since 1886 — a nationally ranked, 228-bed facility and the first and largest children's hospital in the state. As a proud member of the Detroit Medical Center, CHM hosts one of the country's largest pediatric residency programs along with multiple fellowship programs, making it an ideal environment for a physician who values both clinical excellence and academic impact. The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is expanding to meet growing demand across Metro Detroit and is adding a sixth endocrinologist to a well-established, collaborative team. This is a rare opportunity to practice at the intersection of high-acuity pediatric medicine and meaningful teaching in a department that takes a true multidisciplinary approach to care.

    Position Highlights
    • Full-time, employed position combining clinical and academic responsibilities
    • Inpatient and outpatient practice across both clinic and hospital settings
    • Minimum of 6 half-day clinics per week
    • Call shared equitably among 5 (soon 6) division endocrinologists, including weekend and holiday coverage
    • Large, experienced support team: 7 diabetes nurse educators, 6 endocrine nurses, 2 dietitians, and a social worker
    • Regular collaboration with Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Nephrology, Pulmonary, Hematology/Oncology, Immunology, and Gastroenterology
    • Faculty appointment at CHM, home to one of the largest pediatric residency and subspecialty fellowship programs in the country
    • Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and one of the nation's few ABA-verified Pediatric Burn Centers on site
    What We Offer
    • Competitive compensation commensurate with academic and clinical experience
    • Faculty appointment with academic resources and professional development support
    • Robust multidisciplinary team structure reducing administrative burden on physicians
    • Malpractice insurance provided
    • Health, dental, and life insurance
    • 401(k) with employer matching
    • Deferred compensation program
    • Relocation assistance
    Candidate Requirements
    • Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology
    • Fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology required
    • Eligible to obtain Michigan medical licensure
    • Interest in medical education and academics highly preferred
    Why Detroit

Detroit is a city in the middle of a compelling resurgence — a place where world-class cultural institutions, a thriving food scene, and a deeply proud community identity coexist with some of the most affordable urban living in the Midwest. The metro area offers excellent suburban communities like Birmingham, Grosse Pointe, and Royal Oak with top-rated schools, walkable downtowns, and easy access to the city's major medical centers. Outdoor enthusiasts will find abundant options along the Great Lakes shoreline and throughout Michigan's parks and recreational corridors just a short drive away. For physicians who want meaningful work in a storied institution without sacrificing quality of life or stretching a paycheck thin, Metro Detroit consistently overdelivers.
