    Job description

    • Assignment Category: Full Time
    Why Join Us

Tenet Healthcare and The Hospitals of Providence Children's Hospital invite you to bring your surgical expertise to a mission-driven pediatric program committed to delivering quality care in a compassionate, family-centered environment. You'll join a robust, well-resourced team — including board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists, pediatric hospitalists, and 24/7 in-house neonatologists — designed to support your success in the OR and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to practice at a dedicated children's hospital with a full spectrum of pediatric subspecialties under one roof, serving both the El Paso community and patients from across the US-Mexico border region. With a manageable and predictable schedule, in-house billing and coding support, and a growing program behind you, you can focus on what matters most — your patients.

    Position Highlights
    • Specialty: Pediatric General Surgery
    • Schedule: Typically 2–3 clinic days and 1–2 surgical days per week; clinic hours Monday through Friday
    • Call: Shared call, 1:3 rotation
    • Patient Volume: 6–10 patients per clinic day; average 5–8 surgeries per week
    • Practice Setting: Medical office building adjacent to hospital for seamless care coordination
    • Facility: 110-bed pediatric hospital, including 40-bed general pediatric unit, 16-bed PICU, and newly built 30-bed Level IV NICU
    • Support Resources: Board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists on staff, pediatric hospitalists, and 24/7 in-house neonatologist coverage
    • Subspecialty Depth: On-site pediatric subspecialists spanning cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, and more
    What We Offer
    • Guaranteed base salary with production bonus
    • Physician time off including vacation and CME with stipend
    • In-house billing, coding, and collections — no administrative burden on you
    • Malpractice insurance provided
    • Health, dental, and life insurance
    • 401(k) with employer matching
    • Deferred compensation program
    • Relocation assistance
    Candidate Requirements
    • MD or DO degree
    • Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Surgery
    • Active Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain one
    Why El Paso

El Paso is one of the most consistently safe large cities in the United States, offering a welcoming, tight-knit community with an exceptionally high quality of life at a very affordable cost of living. The city enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine per year and serves as a gateway to stunning desert landscapes, the Franklin Mountains State Park, and outdoor recreation year-round. El Paso's rich cultural heritage — shaped by a unique blend of American and Mexican traditions — means world-class cuisine, vibrant festivals, and historic sites are woven into everyday life. Families thrive here thanks to excellent educational options, including Division I universities and respected private colleges. And with no state income tax in Texas, your compensation goes even further in a city that genuinely rewards the physicians who choose to call it home.
