Position Overview:
Texas Panhandle Centers is seeking a Service Coordinator for Substance Use (1077) (LCDC required) to deliver trauma-informed care, skills training, and recovery planning to adults (18+) across Amarillo and the surrounding service area of the Texas Panhandle. This role is ideal for human services graduates looking to gain direct clinical experience in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful trauma-informed care language.
- Provide screening and assessment to individuals (adults and adolescents) with substance use/abuse related issues and determine appropriate treatment (in-patient or out-patient) for such individuals.
- Refer clients to appropriate agencies providing substance use/abuse treatment.
- Determine priority of individuals on waiting list for in-patient treatment, and provide appropriate follow-up services with clients in out-patient treatment.
- Schedule appointments for OSAR services.
- Enter data in Clinical Management for Behavioral Health Services (CMBHS) in a timely manner.
- Submit all client data, time sheets, travel requests, leave requests, purchase requisitions, and special reports to Administration in accordance with agency procedures and within the time frames specified.
- Coordinate services with probation departments, courts, and other agencies as necessary.
- Work as part of the on-call rotation.
- Intervene when necessary using verbal PMAB, CPR, and First Aid, as needed.
- Maintain training as required by the OSAR contract and by the agency.
- Provide services to regional clinics as required by the OSAR contract.
- Meet productivity standards as set forth by OSAR, supervisor, and center management.
- Perform other essential functions and tasks necessary to carry out the purposes of the position.
- Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised.
Qualifications & Credentials:
Education & Credentials (Required):
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) license to qualify as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) in the state of Texas.
- LCDC license must be current and in good standing.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE).
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
- At least 18 years of age.

Experience Level Tiering:
- Graduate-level coursework in a related field may substitute for up to 1 year of required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
- Experience with providing substance use treatment services.
