    Summary
    The Operations Supervisor plans, directs, and assigns work activities in a manufacturing or distribution department. This role supports and implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in operation methods, equipment, people, materials, and working conditions. The Supervisor leads daily operations, manages employee performance, drives continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost, and ensures alignment with company standards and core values.
    Primary Job Functions (Responsibilities)
    Leadership & Employee Relations
    1. Listen, respond to, and address employee concerns in a timely and professional manner.
    2. Coordinate with other supervision to ensure all operation activities are coordinated as an integrated whole.
    3. Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, and pay adjustments.
    Continuous Improvement & Performance Management
    1. Manage and improve functional areas and institute performance measures through use and interpretation of Continuous Improvement tools.
    2. Improve working conditions and processes (safety, quality, productivity, and cost), including supporting and directing employees to participate in improvement programs.
    3. Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and evaluating results to optimize production.
    4. Analyze and resolve employees’ problems in a timely manner.
    Operational Excellence
    1. Communicate product or material issues with appropriate individuals to prevent production delays and quality issues.
    2. Maintain departmental equipment to ensure proper and safe operations.
    3. Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring employees wear PPE (personal protective equipment) and follow safety compliance.
    4. Assist the functional area Superintendent or Manager to improve systems of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and performance management.
    5. Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing team members to meet the area’s goals.
    6. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to and quality standards are maintained.
    Employee Development & Administration
    1. Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviews.
    2. Recommend, plan, and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
    3. Audit, maintain, and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate and comply with company policies.
    4. Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through:
      • Weekly team meetings
      • Regular individual employee meetings
      • Coaching and training
      • Company-offered learning opportunities
    Resource Management
    1. Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials.

    Qualifications
    (If not already defined elsewhere, typical requirements for this role may include)
    Preferred Baseline
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • 2+ years in a manufacturing or distribution center environment
    • Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred
    • Experience with manufacturing or warehouse equipment and department processes
    • Strong leadership and team management skills
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
    • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    Work Environment
    This role is located in an active industrial manufacturing and/or distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The position may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The environment is fast-paced, time-sensitive, and safety-sensitive.
    Pay
    $73,000- $84,000 DOE
