    • Manage crisis and issues management: lead preparedness planning, scenario mapping, and rapid response; coordinate cross-functional teams; develop holding statements, FAQs, escalation protocols, and post-incident debriefs.
    • Create industry-specific programs and storytelling that highlights BNY’s capabilities, solutions and role in the financial ecosystem; positioning leaders on relevant industry topics and at high-profile forums.
    • Manage a team of external communications professionals in setting and implementing the external communication strategy by identifying and pursuing key opportunities that advance and protect the company's reputation.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

    • Experience: 12–15+ years of corporate communications experience with a proven track record in media relations and crisis/issues management; experience in financial services industries strongly preferred.
    • Network: strong media relationships and an understanding of what stories will and will not resonate with media.

    • Basic AI literacy and comfort with a vision for the future of the function - monitoring for anomaly detection, sentiment shifts, and misinformation tracking; maintain human oversight to judge context and reputation risk
    • Adaptable: can manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and establish processes that scale.
