We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Sustainability Regulatory Strategy and Execution (Global) to join our Enterprise Sustainability team. This role is located in New York, NY.

In this role, you will lead the translation of evolving sustainability regulations and disclosure frameworks into enterprise reporting strategy, governance, and execution.

You will serve as a senior partner across Corporate Functions, driving high-quality, decision-useful disclosures, strengthening reporting readiness and controls, and influencing strategic responses to a rapidly changing regulatory environment.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

    • Lead the regulatory strategy and execution agenda for sustainability reporting, shaping BNY’s approach to evolving requirements including CSRD ESRS E1, ISSB IFRS S2, ASRS AASB S2, TCFD, and related regulations, standards frameworks and guidance.
    • Drive end-to-end delivery of key sustainability regulatory workstreams, from regulatory interpretation and impact assessment through governance, implementation, and external disclosure.
    • Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on regulatory developments, implementation priorities, key risks, and business implications for BNY.
    • Oversee the development of high-quality narrative and quantitative disclosures across governance, strategy, risk management, metrics, and targets, ensuring consistency, transparency, and audit readiness.
    • Strengthen reporting governance, controls, documentation, and accountability frameworks to support traceability, assurance readiness, and sustainable execution at scale.
    • Partner across Sustainability, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Investor Relations, and other Corporate Functions to align priorities, resolve complex issues, and deliver coordinated outcomes.
    • Anticipate regulatory and execution risks, escalate issues appropriately, and drive practical, well-reasoned solutions in ambiguous or fast-evolving situations.
    • Identify and advance opportunities to enhance reporting quality, efficiency, and data integrity, including through process improvement, automation, and responsible use of AI-enabled tools.
    • Contribute to the development of team capability, operating discipline, and a strong culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

    • Deep knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and regulations, particularly CSRD ESRS E1, ISSB IFRS S2, ASRS AASB S2, TCFD, California AB-1305, California SB-253 and SB-261, and the broader disclosure landscape affecting global banks. Prior experience implementing these disclosures is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, finance, accounting, economics, public policy, law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Significant experience in sustainability reporting, regulatory strategy, corporate disclosure, financial reporting, ESG governance, or a related discipline, ideally within financial services.
    • Strong understanding of banking business models, regulatory expectations, and sector-specific sustainability risks and reporting considerations.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with a high degree of ownership, sound judgment, and executive presence.
    • Proven ability to interpret technical requirements and convert them into actionable governance, implementation, and reporting plans.
    • Excellent writing, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and influence senior audiences in a matrixed environment.
    • Experience enhancing controls, documentation, and assurance-ready reporting processes; familiarity with sustainability data, digital tools, and automation is preferred.
