The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
Responsibilities
- Point of contact for all HR matters such as but not limited to benefits, compensation, training, payroll, and employee relations.
- Manage performance, investigations, make recommendations for corrective action, and lead terminations.
- Maintain a productive relationship with managers in Las Vegas; meet regularly to discuss morale, areas of improvement, and performance.
- Review and respond to matters complex in nature that have been escalated due to risk, urgency, or severity.
- Manage the integration, configuration, and administration of HR systems.
- Outline team priorities and timelines and manage team performance toward achieving goals.
- Primary point of contact for entire Las Vegas operation.
- Key partner with HR operations on HR systems including onboarding, workers' compensation, and LOA management
- Approve time cards, modify pay rates, implement one-off payments, and ensure payment of salaried and hourly employees bi-weekly.
- Facilitate the new-hire onboarding process, including generating offer letters, and auditing background checks.
- Lead HR initiatives and projects.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership position.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in an HR leadership position.
- SHRM-SCP certification.
- Acute attention to detail and strong multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and with little direction.
- Ability to quickly and reasonably prioritize tasks.
- Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
- An analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data.
- Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.
Additional Requirements
- Position may require extended hours and weekend work.
- Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed. Up to 20% travel.
