Fabrication Operator

POSITION SUMMARY 

General fabrication processes, such as cutting, grinding, and organizing different metals for machine operators. This role is hands-on and requires attention to detail to ensure quality parts are produced on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Fabricate and assemble metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

• Organize different metals and materials for machine operators

• Operate saws, drills, grinders, and other fabrication tools.

• Follow work orders, drawings, and instructions to produce accurate parts.

• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and accuracy.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Positive attitude, team-oriented, and willing to learn and participate in continuous improvement projects.  

• Willingness to accept additional assignments and responsibilities as assigned. 

• Ability to follow and abide by all CLC policies and procedures. 

• Ability to write simple correspondence.

• Understand the phase schedule for production support.

Qualifications & Essential job Functions:

• High school diploma, GED, or Equivalent Experience. 

• 1-3 years of experience in a production plant preferred

• Ability to use hand tools, measuring tools, and shop equipment.

• Basic blueprint or drawing reading skills preferred.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion with minimal supervision.

• Self-motivated, self-directed, and able to perform multiple tasks, with strong attention to detail.

• Positive attitude, team-oriented, and willing to learn and participate in continuous improvement projects. 

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.  Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 40 pounds.  Equipment operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to:  safety glasses with side shields, hearing protectors, hard toed safety shoes, protective gloves, and aprons as needed.  Work schedule is based on a 10 hour schedule with overtime required based on business needs.
