    • Drafting correspondence to clients and opposing parties.
    • Calendaring appointments, court deadlines, and statutory lien filing deadlines (which vary by state and can be as short as 15–90 days).
    • Preparing and filing Mechanic's & Materialman's (M&M) liens across multiple jurisdictions (TX, CA, LA, GA, KS).
    • Reviewing and organizing construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, payment applications, and change orders.
    • Supporting pre-litigation and litigation collections of matters tied to lien enforcement.
    • Filing and e-serving various documents.
    • Communicating with Court staff.
    • Communicating with clients.
    • Organizing client files in Clio.
    • Circulating files to parties.
    • Drafting various motions and pleadings.
    • Assisting with compiling exhibits, preparing, and organizing court appearances, trial settings, mediation, and arbitration.
    • Arranging transportation and lodging as necessary for witnesses, experts, attorneys, etc., for court appearances, trial settings, mediation, and arbitration.
    • Staying informed on client matters and assisting your supervising attorney in maintaining client communications and relationships.
    • Promptly responding to client communications (typically within 24 hours).
    • Updating case status in weekly strategy meetings.
    • Assisting with other tasks as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills in a variety of situations.
    • Excellent work ethic.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to independently manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions.
    • Attention to detail — accuracy on lien filings and statutory deadlines is critical.
    • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong legal research skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with Clio or similar legal case management software.
    • Familiarity with Texas e-filing systems (eFileTexas).

    Preferred Skills/Abilities:

    • Familiarity with construction industry terminology and documents (contracts, payment applications, change orders).
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
    • Notary Public certification, or willingness to obtain.
    • Discretion in handling confidential client and case information.

    Education and Experience:

    • Associate or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred.
