Substitute Teacher

Saint Joseph Catholic School, located in Palm Bay, is seeking substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. The substitute teacher performs the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods of time. A person in this position works on an as-needed basis. The substitute teacher agrees to abide by the educational policies and procedures of the Diocese of Orlando and the Office of Catholic Schools as well as comply with the educational policies and procedures of Saint Joseph Catholic School and Parish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the creation of a Christian atmosphere in school, particularly by beginning each class period with an appropriate prayer.
• Report to school by 7:30 A.M or when called and available.
• Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Maintain established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect all students.
• Take all necessary precautions to protect and maintain equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Handle normal discipline in the classroom and enforces classroom rules and procedures.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
