Job Summary
- Implement the Production Fulfillment Process steps related to the fabrication of parts according to work order and customer requirements. Ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Second of Four levels of CNC machining center operators.
- Beginning to set up, adjust and identify programming, and operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close tolerances and finish specifications requiring considerable skill. Works from programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations and console settings, for
- Production operations such as mill, drill, face, thread and occasional profiling and contouring. Operators may run more than one machine simultaneously.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment:
- Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
- Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
- Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using CNC machining centers to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions
- Follow written instructions from internal and external customers and interpret basic to intermediate blueprint specifications
- Perform work independently with minimal defects
- Basic recognition of tooling and procedures within established tolerances
- Complete work order paperwork
- Checks parts for conformance to customer specifications.
- Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
- Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department
- Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
