Outreach Specialist Build Relationships. Restore Hope. Change Lives. The Kearney Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Outreach Specialist to connect with individuals experiencing homelessness throughout our community. This role is about meeting people where they are—both physically and emotionally—to build trust, provide essential resources, and connect them with services that can change their lives. As an Outreach Specialist, you’ll spend time in the community engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness, providing meals and basic necessities, offering encouragement, and helping clients take the next step toward housing, healthcare, employment, and long-term stability.

Every interaction is an opportunity to build trust and create hope.

    What You’ll Do

    • Conduct outreach throughout the community to engage individuals experiencing homelessness.
    • Build trusting relationships through compassionate, respectful, and consistent interactions.
    • Distribute meals, hygiene supplies, and other essential resources.
    • Connect clients with shelter, housing, healthcare, mental health, employment, and community resources.
    • Document outreach activities and client information accurately in HMIS.
    • Transport clients when appropriate to appointments or shelter services.
    • Collaborate with community partners to coordinate services and improve client outcomes.
    • Serve as a positive ambassador for The Kearney Center throughout the community.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Passion for serving individuals experiencing homelessness.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
    • Experience in outreach, case management, social services, behavioral health, or a related field is preferred.
    • Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and professional in a variety of community settings.
    • Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
    • Why Join The Kearney Center?
    • Every conversation has the potential to change a life.
    • As an Outreach Specialist, you’ll be one of the first people to offer hope, encouragement, and a pathway toward stability for individuals who need it most.
    • If you believe in treating every person with dignity and helping others take meaningful steps toward a better future, we’d love to have you join our team.
