This role serves as the final quality-control reviewer for tax engagements, with responsibility for reviewing, approving, and signing off on returns before delivery to clients and filing with taxing authorities.<br><br> </div><div>The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong technical expertise, tax planning experience, and the ability to provide guidance on complex tax matters. This individual will serve as a trusted resource for staff, support client consultations, and help identify opportunities that add value for our clients.<br><br> </div><div> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><br> </div><div>

    • Perform final reviews of individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and other tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Exercise final sign-off authority on tax returns prior to client delivery and filing.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Identify tax planning opportunities, compliance risks, and technical issues during the review process.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for staff on complex tax matters.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Research and interpret federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Participate in consultations with existing and prospective clients to discuss tax needs, planning opportunities, and service solutions.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Mentor and support tax preparers and junior team members.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and other tax authority inquiries.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Stay current on tax law changes, regulatory updates, and industry best practices.<br><br> </div><div> <strong>Qualifications</strong><br><br> </div><div>
    • Active CPA license required.<br><br> </div><div>
    • 7+ years of tax review experience in a public accounting environment.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Experience serving in a final-review and sign-off capacity.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state tax compliance.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Experience reviewing Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065, and related returns.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Demonstrated tax planning experience for individuals and businesses.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Experience conducting client consultations and discussing tax strategies.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.<br><br> </div><div>
    • Proficiency with tax software such as CCH, UltraTax, ProSeries, or similar platforms.<br><br> </div><div> <strong>Selection Process</strong><br><br> </div><div>Candidates selected for further consideration may be required to complete job-related assessments designed to evaluate technical tax knowledge, analytical abilities, and other competencies relevant to the position.<br><br><br> </div> </div> <p>This is a remote position.</p>
