The Veterinary Medical Center within the College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Pharmacy Technician - Assists the Veterinary Pharmacist entering new and refill prescription into the computer and assists in obtaining medications to fill orders; reviews daily Cubex stock reports and prepares and refills each station; prepares various solutions, capsules and compounds; receives and unpacks pharmaceutical orders and checks packing slips and invoices for shortages of delivery; orders fluids and unpacks order; restocks pharmacy shelves, including prescription pet food diets and fluids, and assists in reporting low stocks; packages prescription for mailings; answers the pharmacy phone and assists callers or refers callers to the pharmacist; fills departmental orders for pharmaceuticals; submits form for disposal of outdated non-controlled pharmaceuticals and biologicals; enters new pharmaceuticals into computer and updates prices in computer as needed; returns unclaimed prescriptions to stock and credits clients accounts. Works Monday-Friday (hours to be determined) and may work an occasional Saturday.
Hiring Range - $18.37 - $23.99
Minimum Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent
Requires National certification as a pharmacy technician and registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
Physical Requirements:
Pushing/pulling/lifting up to 50 pounds; Exposure to animal dander and/or zoonotic diseases, Exposure to needle sticks, hazardous chemicals, and/or bio hazardous waste.
Desired Experience:
Experience with sterile compounding
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
