    POSITION SPECIFICS​

    The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, in Hershey, PA is seeking a candidate for a Full-Time Human Research Technologist (Sleep) to explain study aspects and procedures, maintain lab equipment, apply electrodes and monitor overnight sleep studies.

    As a sleep technician, the position will be accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings (including consecutive night studies) for clinical trials in human subjects; monitor and track research study files to ensure quality control of data collected. Work hours: 3rd shift, including some weekends.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

    • Accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings; monitor and track research studies to ensure quality control.
    • Perform PSGs and participate in the collection of Actigraphy, and other research participant data.
    • Maintain supplies for sleep laboratory as well as recording equipment to ensure it is in working order at all times for research studies.
    • Collect and analyze biological samples (saliva, urine)
    • Participate in aspects of sleep data management for assigned projects including:  update and maintain databases; resolve problem data issues; track data collection forms, and other project materials; perform verification procedures.
    • Collaborate with project coordinators, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

    Associate Degree
2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Required Certifications:
None

    Qualifications: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) strongly preferred. Will consider candidates with prior training in sleep studies who have suitable work experience.

    BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

    This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

    SALARY & BENEFITS

    The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $44,628.00 - $64,668.00.
